NFL POWER RANKINGS

Throughout the season, we'll have weekly power rankings after the previous week's games. Make sure that you bookmark this page for updated rankings each week during the NFL football season.

1) New England Patriots - They are currently 18-0. They ranked No.1 in the NFL in total offense, passing yards, fewest passes intercepted per pass attempt, 1st downs, average gain per play, scoring and point differential. They also finished 2nd in 3rd-down efficiency, sack pct., opponents punt return average and time of possession. They have been No.1 in the power rankings since the preseason and our choice to win the Super Bowl since April. They have done it all (with a little help from the sideline camera) and are poised to win their 4th Super Bowl in seven years. They have to dispose of a hot Giants team but are a double-digit favorite to do just that.

2) New York Giants - They ranked 23rd in the power rankings after Week 1 but climbed steadily throughout the season and through three road playoff wins. Eli Manning has come of age and the defense has allowed an average of 17 points over their last 12 games and that includes the 38 that the Pats hung on them in their last regular season game. They believe they can win but the 2-week wait between the Packers game and this one could halt their momentum. They need Plaxico Burress, Amani Toomer and the CBs to continue their inspired play to have a chance.
