ODDS TO WIN THE NFC East

Dallas won the division with a 13-3 record but bowed out quickly in the playoffs. New York finished 10-6 and then reeled off four-straight wins to win the Super Bowl. Washington also made the playoffs with a 9-7 record but were first round losers. Philadelphia brought up the rear with an 8-8 mark.

The Cowboys are definitely consumed with a win-now mentality and all the pressure is at the feet of HC Wade Phillips. He has to at least reach the Super Bowl or he will be replaced by coach-in-waiting Jason Garrett. They have the most talent in the division but are awfully thin at receiver, especially if Terrell Owens gets hurt.

The Giants suffered a huge blow as they lost Osi Umenyiora for the season with a knee injury. Michael Strahan has retired and now a team strength has become a question mark. Plaxico Burress hasn't been able to practice in the preseason but did pretty well last season when he didn't practice during the season.

The Eagles are flying under the radar and that's how they like it. They brought in Asante Samuel to shore up the pass defense and try to up their interception total. They need Donovan McNabb and Brian Westbrook to stay healthy but failed again to get a dynamic receiver for McNabb to throw to.

The Redskins have a new HC (Jim Zorn) and a new offensive system. They still have Clinton Portis and look for him to remain the centerpiece of the offense. Washington's season could be determined in the first month as they visit all three division rivals. The defense ranked 6th last season and they'll need a repeat performance for this club to have a chance.

Dallas is clearly the favorite and returns 13 Pro Bowlers from a season ago. They have also made some good personnel moves in FA and the draft. NY has now lost five defensive starters from last season and Philly and Washington also look to be a notch below. At even money, the Cowboys look to be the best bet.
