NFC Championship Odds

The defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers remain the favorites to win the NFC Confernce once again at Bodog after a close high-scoring win in Week 1.

The Packers held on to defeated New Orleans 42-34 in Week 1 and also held onto the top spot on the NFC futures at 11/4. Green Bay’s offense was on it’s game in the win, while the defense, despite a fourth quarter stand could use some improvement after allowing the Saints to put 34 points on the board. Aaron Rodgers and his boatload of weapons would be hard to beat if the Green Bay defense also lives up to expectation.

The Philadelphia Eagles were the talk of the offseason after their moves in the free agent and trade markets, but could they live up to the hype? Everything looked good in their Week 1 win over injury-riddled St. Louis, but they remain No. 2 in the NFC on the odds at 7/2.

The Saints occupy the No. 3 spot at 15/2 and remain one of the elite teams in the NFC despite the Week 1 loss to Green Bay. New Orleans nearly pulled off a late comeback versus Green Bay and even though Marques Colston got hurt in Week 1 they still boast one of the top passing games in the league.

The most interesting pick for bettors on the NFC odds right now could be the Detroit Lions. After years of futility and deserved mockery the Lions may finally be a legitimate contender again. Matt Stafford and Calvin Johnson should be one of the most dangerous tandems in football for years, but it might be too early to add Detroit to the NFC elite. If Detroit’s defense can continue to show growth the Lions might be worth at least taking a flier on as a 11/1 underdog on the NFC futures.
