College Football Top 25
Here are the match ups for the AP Top 25 and the lines available at pinnaclesports.com.
No. 1 Alabama (PR No.1) - The Crimson Tide have the week off after beating Mississippi State 32-7.
No. 2 Texas Tech (PR No.2) - No.2 Texas Tech (10-0) at No.5 Oklahoma -6.5 (9-1) - Last week both teams had the week off. This game is HUGE, as the winner has a good shot at getting to the BCS Title game. This game will see a lot of fireworks, as the Red Raiders have the top ranked passing offense and the Sooners rank 3rd. The Sooners can run the ball, as their rushing offense is ranked 24th in the nation, so the Red Raiders D can't just play the pass.
No. 3 Florida (PR No.3) - Citadel (4-7) at No.3 Florida (9-1) - Last week the Gators crushed South Carolina 56-6 while the Citadel beat Chattanooga 24-21. Don't look for a close game here, as the Gators offense is on fire and the Citadel is in D1AA. Enough said.
No. 4 Texas (PR No.4) - The Longhorns have this week off after beating Kansas 35-7.
No. 5 Oklahoma (PR No.5) - No.2 Texas Tech (10-0) at No.5 Oklahoma -6.5 (9-1) - Both teams had the week off last week. First place in the Big 12 is at stake here and the winner should play in the Big 12 Title game. This game will be all about offense, as each rank in the top 4 in the nation in passing yards per game.
No. 6 USC (PR No.6) - The Trojans have the week off after beating Stanford 45-23.
No. 7 Penn State (PR No.7) - No.17 Michigan State (9-2) at No.7 Penn State -14.5 (10-1) - Last week the Nittany Lions beat Indiana 34-7 while the Spartans had the week off. Even though both teams are ranked in the top 20 the Nittany Lions rank ahead of the Spartans in passing yards and rushing yards per game, points per game, and on defense. AND the Nittany Lions are at home where they are undefeated this season.
No. 8 Utah (PR No.8) - No.16 BYU (10-1) at No.8 Utah -6.5 (11-0) - Last week BYU beat Air Force 38-24 while the Utes smoked San Diego State 63-14. Both teams really need to win this game, as the winner can still play in a BCS Bowl game. Utah can keep their slim hopes of a National Title alive if they win this big home game.
No. 9 Boise State (PR No.9) - No.9 Boise State -6 (10-0) at Nevada (6-4) - Last week the Broncos crushed Idaho 45-10 while Nevada beat San Jose State 41-17. Nevada has the nation's top ranked rushing offense and their RB and QB already have over 1,000 rushing yards for the year. However, the Wolfpack's D only ranks 84th in the nation.
No. 10 Ohio State (PR No.10) - Michigan (3-8) at No.10 Ohio State -20.5 (9-2) - Last week the Buckeyes beat Illinois 30-20 while the Wolverines lost to Northwestern 21-14. Nothing has gone right for the Wolverines this season and now they play an OSU team that still has BCS Bowl game hopes.
No. 11 Oklahoma State (PR No.11) - The Cowboys have the week off after beating Colorado 30-17.
No. 12 Missouri (PR No.12) - The Tigers have the week off after beating Iowa State 52-20.
No. 13 Georgia (PR No.13) - The Bulldogs have the week off after beating Auburn 17-13.
No. 14 Ball State (PR No.14) - No.14 Ball State -7 (10-0) at Central Michigan (8-2) - Last week Ball State beat Miami (OH) 31-16 while Central Michigan beat Northern Illinois 33-30 in OT. Ball State has the better rushing offense while Central Michigan has the better passing offense. This is no easy game for Ball State, as Central Michigan is undefeated at home this season.
No. 15 TCU (PR No.15) - Air Force (8-3) at No.15 TCU -18.5 (9-2) - Last week Air Force lost to BYU 38-24 while the Horned Frogs had the week off. Both teams have a strong rushing offense. It will not be easy for the Cadets to score on TCU, as they have the nations top ranked defense.
No. 16 Brigham Young (PR No.16) - No.16 BYU (10-1) at No.8 Utah -6.5 (11-0) - Last week BYU beat Air Force 38-24 while the Utes smoked San Diego State 63-14. Both teams have a legit offense, but the Utes have a much better defense. First place in the MWC and a possible BCS Bowl game is at stake in this game.
No. 17 Michigan State (PR No.18) - No.17 Michigan State (9-2) at No.7 Penn State -14.5 (10-1) - Last week the Nittany Lions beat Indiana 34-7 while the Spartans had the week off. The Nittany Lions have the nation's 4th ranked defense and they need to win out to get a BCS Bowl game nod. The Nittany Lions are also undefeated at home this season.
No. 18 LSU (PR No.19) - Mississippi (6-4) at No.18 LSU -4.5 (7-3) - Last week the Tigers beat Troy 40-31 while the Rebels crushed Louisiana Monroe 59-0. Both teams are pretty even on offense, but the Tigers have the better defense. Both teams are Bowl eligible, but both need to win this game to play closer to New Year's Day. The Rebels are looking bat their 2nd ranked team this year, as they already beat Florida.
No. 19 Cincinnati (PR No.22) - No.19 Cincinnati -5 (8-2) at No.20 Pittsburgh (7-2) - Last week the Bearcats beat Louisville 28-20 while the Panthers had the week off. Both teams are tied or 1st place in the Big East. The Bearcats have the better passing offense while the Panthers have the better rushing offense. The winner stays in the hunt for the Big East title and will remain and probably move up in the top 25.
No. 20 Pittsburgh (PR No.21) - No.19 Cincinnati -5 (8-2) at No.20 Pittsburgh (7-2) - See Above. First place in the Big East is at stake in this game.
No. 21 Oregon State (PR No.23) - No.21 Oregon State (7-3) at Arizona -3 (6-4) - Last week the Beavers beat Cal 34-21 while the Wildcats lost to Oregon 55-45. Both teams are pretty even on offense, but the Beavers have the slight edge on defense. The Beavers have won 5 straight games and since they beat USC they are in first place in the Pac 10 and will play in the Rose Bowl if they win out.
No. 22 Maryland (PR NR) - Florida State (7-3) at No.22 Maryland -1 (7-3) - Last week the Seminoles lost to Boston College 27-17 while the Terrapins beat North Carolina 17-15. Both teams can still win the ACC, but need to win this game. FSU has the nation's 4th ranked defense while Maryland only ranks 64th. The Seminoles also have the better offense, but they are at Maryland who is undefeated at home this season.
No. 23 Miami (FL) (PR NR) - No.23 Miami (7-3) at Georgia Tech -3.5 (7-3) - Last week the Hurricanes beat Virginia Tech 16-14 while the Yellow Jackets had the week off. The Hurricanes are in first place in the ACC Coastal division and they have a legit shot at the ACC title game if they win this game, as they play last place NC State next week. The Hurricanes and their 10th ranked defense will have to stop the Yellow Jackets and their 8th ranked rushing offense.
No. 24 Oregon (PR NR) - The Ducks have the week off after beating Arizona 55-45 and getting back into the top 25.
No. 25 North Carolina (PR No.17) - North Carolina State (4-6) at No.25 North Carolina -11 (7-3) - Last week the Tar Heels lost to Maryland 17-15 while the Wolfpack beat Wake Forrest 21-17. The Tar Heels still have a slim shot at winning the ACC Coastal Division, but they need some help. The Tar Heels cannot take the Wolfpack lightly, as they beat, then, #24 Wake Forrest last week and they look to play spoiler yet again.
